They’re likely to be starting with a new philosophy, frame, logic or narrative that guides the work, like a new philosophy about how the economy could work or how society could be organised.

• What is the source of all our wicked global problems? NB our problems are symptoms of one major cause - our lack of understanding of systems and inability to interact with the world as a system...hence See the Systems! • Children are the future. Empower them with skills and agency to change their world. • Current systems are creating all our problems (examples). Adults won’t change a system they depend on. • If you see a system do you choose to exploit it or change it for the greater good? • 3R’s just reinforces the existing system • Creating new small businesses with values and systemic understanding. • Who “we” are: International group of professional volunteers passionate about systems.

They consider equity in everything they do - equity for people and for the planet. We are looking for initiatives that are creating new patterns of who has power and what is valued.

• We are all so powerful. We don’t see it. We have the power to change our world through aligning action to systemic understanding. • Requisite variety is at neighbourhood level. Stop being dependent on/blaming others. Empower Grass roots action. • Reorganising as a connected network not a hierarchy • Preventing predators • Creative commons.

They’ll be generating an infrastructure through which many things are possible.

• Everything is Systems. Understanding the world and ourselves as a system changes everything. • Projects chosen by kids in Oregon Trial. • The learning network of See the Systems. • The network of partners • Already done (Nestle – Project Globe) • CIC or CLG? Or Cooperative.

They can show that the things that are created underpin genuine transitions away from/towards the relevant focus.

They’ll be able to show that they’ve been consistently asking and exploring good questions about how things need to change in the present, and can imagine and articulate what alternatives looks like.

• The vision of See the Systems, part of Relocalize Creatvity • Questions I asked myself: Why was I not taught to think and chose at school. What are the sources of all our persistent global wicked problems? Symptoms of that one cause. • Current questions: Designing trials.

They’ll be operating from a set of principles that show how they’ll get there, even if they do not know what the final result might be (because it’s experimental).

We are experimenting with using the set of system tools we aim to empower the children with on this initiative. • Giving neighborhoods the tools top corporations and governments use.

They can show an ability to continually adapt as they go. We want to invest in how people are enquiring.

• Aim to be as “empty” as possible. Being glue. Not creating new parts. Minimal assets. Flexibility.

They will be able to describe what progress looks like for their work, how they are committed to that progress, and to have some ideas about how they will measure and show progress.

There is momentum to what they are doing. They can point to how they are making ripples as they have been growing and deepening their work, and show that they are attracting others to it.

They are unlikely to be a single organisation or project, already working with multiple partners and enmeshed in many relationships. They can also show that they’ve had real engagement with other parts of the landscape that are key to things being different.
