In the diagram below I model two alternative choices. In both options my assessment of myself is shown in the middle of the scale ie there are those "better" than me and those who are "worse".
In Choice one I decide to learn from those above me and help those below me. The consequence is that we all rise and I considerably better myself and everyone else.
In choice two I decide to discredit those I consider to be above me and use those below me. The result is that the whole pile descends and I end up top of a very poor pile!
What is your choice?
