[[international workers day]]!
- one of my favourite days
Friends are coming over; we spent the first half of the day cleaning the house :) It was a good time to do it with actual concrete motivation, so that was nice.

I get disappointed these days when I read a really interesting article by someone, but find I can only follow them on Twitter.
Some things I could do:
-
follow their Twitter feed via a bridge of some kind
-
message them and ask if they would consider using something else
-
not worry about it, and assume anything else interesting they write will filter through to me somehow anyway, like the first article did

Bit bummed out that where I currently am, [[Freegle]]/Freecycle have almost zero traction, and Facebook groups doing the same thing has all the action.
I hate that Facebook is coopting so much of community activity.
Some might say that the ends justify the means, but when the means are so problematic in so many other ways, it's disappointing.

- I like the sound of this as a [[theory of change]]. I mean partly because it heavily involves [[networks]], [[communities of practice]], and [[emergence]].
- I see some connection to [[Vanguard stack]]. This would be the pioneers section of two loops.

The [[Two Loop Model]] fits on to the history of the [[Paris Commune]], I think. The Commune was seeded in advance by a wide network, by communities of practice, and it emerged out of those communities when the spark came.
For it was the reunions and the clubs that created and instilled the ideaβwell before the factβof a social commune.
β [[Birth of the Commune]]
Mind you, it got crushed to fuck by the vested interests. I'm not sure if the Two Loop Model covers that.
17:49 direct contact
directly contact people you think are cool is one of the best things you can do for free on the internet i have gotten so much out of this and learned so much from it it's incredible, and i've barely scratched the surface of what is possible! DMs are a powerful force, they just have to be used effectively:
- box time for social media interaction (outside of DM conversations)
- be disciplined and polite when reaching out to others
- public document at doc.anagora.org/2021-05-01
- video call at meet.jit.si/2021-05-01
