Psychology:

Psychology is the science of mind and behavior. Psychology includes the study of conscious and unconscious phenomena, as well as feeling and thought. It is an academic discipline of immense scope. Psychologists seek an understanding of the emergent properties of brains, and all the variety of phenomena linked to those emergent properties, joining this way the broader neuro-scientific group of researchers. As a social science, it aims to understand individuals and groups by establishing general principles and researching specific cases.

Mindset:

In decision theory and general systems theory, a mindset is a set of assumptions, methods, or notions held by one or more people or groups of people.[1] A mindset can also be seen as arising out of a person's world view or philosophy of life.[2]

A mindset may be so firmly established that it creates a powerful incentive within these people or groups to continue to adopt or accept prior behaviors, choices, or tools.[citation needed] The latter phenomenon is also sometimes described as mental inertia, "groupthink", and it is often difficult to counteract its effects upon analysis and decision making processes.

In cognitive psychology, a mindset represents the cognitive processes activated in response to a given task

Reflection

What surprised you about this journey? The openness and trust in this team. The degree of soul baring/bonding. The creativeness of these people. How I realised I didn't really know them before...and it made me think about whether we really know anybody... How we look for certainty...no learning in certainty only copying. My talk with Peter Robertson.

What delighted you about this journey? I felt so proud of this school and of the UK. How Tina said I was a member of their SLT. It restored my faith in humanity (after the previous DIG in Australia.)

Mapping systems outside vs creating strong connections.

What do you now wonder as a result of this journey? How this can be maintained? How it transfers to the children? Where else we use it? What made this work so well here vs other experiences?
