Demo Day
The challenge on demo day is to tell a story. We are looking for a conversation rather than a formal presentation. They can prepare a creative artefact. They are expected to present their map/CLD to the other students/guides and 10 community members.
They will have 3 minutes for storytelling and 2 minutes for questions.
Key points to cover:
- Why is this topic important to the community?;
- What is the proposed project?;
- What impact will it have?
- (What will be needed to make it happen?)
There are 19 maps and projects. There will be 10 "stations" (tables outside) to present the projects.
The students have an hour in the morning to prepare for the demo. We suggest that they rehearse their story telling in their teams and obtain some feedback prior to the demo for real.
The community members and students will have post-its to post their comments on each project.
One half of the projects will be presented with the other half being their audience then roles will be swapped.
We need to think about what needs to happen to these projects after the OCHS Bridge program has completed. The students need to be told this.
One idea is that we could start "ChangeOurWorld.Club" here to incubate these projects. (I have already taken the domain name together with "SeetheSystems.Club".) Another is that these projects could compete for awards in "See the Systems". Finally, some of these projects could have the capacity to become businesses: The students could be sponsored on our "Systemic Entrepreneurship" course. All these streams will be part of Relocalize.Academy.
